PRP Injections For Skin Rejuvenation
PRP is a natural approach to improve skin imperfections. This platelet-rich plasma system (PRP) allows truly natural skin regeneration using your body’s own ability to stimulate your own collagen production. It improves skin texture, tone, pigmentation, and overall quality of the skin. It is a safe and effective treatment, with natural, gradual improvement. It can be used for all ages, even as a preventative option in younger patients just starting to see minor wrinkles or skin imperfections.

What is involved?
Dr. Gidon performs the treatment. A small sample of your own blood is collected and spun in a centrifuge. The platelets and fibrin, which are important factors in the natural process of healing, are collected and used for reinjection into targeted sites.
How does it work?
The injected platelets release growth factors which trigger the production of new collagen. The effects last for a year or longer. It is not only used for skin rejuvenation, but also for stimulation of hair growth, tendon repair, bone growth and wound healing.
What areas can be treated?
Tired-looking eyes, dark circles under the eyes, crow’s feet, smile lines, crêpey skin on the face, neck and chest, hands, arms, thighs, wrinkles, and acne scars.
What are the results?
In about 6 weeks, eyes appear more rested, lines are improved, and the skin is tighter and smoother. There is an overall refreshed, natural and healthy appearance.
How will I look after the treatment?
Since there are multiple, tiny injection sites, there may be some bruising and swelling for a few days if the eyelids are treated. Other areas may bruise for a few days and makeup can be worn.
How many sessions are required?
The number of sessions depends on each patient, the desired results and the area treated. One to 3 sessions spaced about 6 weeks apart are recommended.

Who cannot have PRP treatments?
Avoid treatment if you are pregnant or nursing, or have any active infection, some platelet abnormalities, have high calcium levels, or are on certain medications such as blood thinners, calcium channel blockers and quinidine.
What should I avoid for one week before my treatment?
You need to avoid substances that affect platelets and thin the blood: ASA, NSAID’s, penicillin, cephalosporins, alcohol, green tea, fish oils, vitamin E, and garlic.
Can it be combined with other procedures?
Absolutely! PRP is used to enhance other treatments such as Neuromodulators for Cosmetic Treatments, fillers, IPL and laser treatments.
