What is it? Calcium hydroxylapatite is made of tiny biodegradable calcium-based microspheres similar to minerals that are found naturally in your body, so allergy testing is not required.
How does it work? Once injected, it acts as a scaffold under the skin, providing structure and stimulating your own natural collagen to grow. Over time, your body naturally breaks down these tiny microspheres and leaves behind your own natural collagen.
How long do the results last? Three treatments are performed 6 to 8 weeks apart. It can take several months to see the natural results which may last for one year. At that time, one treatment a year is done for maintenance.

What is the recovery time? There is very little to no down-time involved in a calcium hydroxylapatite procedure. You may have some redness and tenderness for a few days and the treated area should be massaged for the first 24 hours.
What are the side effects? As with any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itchiness, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection sites. Nodules may develop and rarely, localized allergic reactions may occur at the injection site. These reactions typically resolve on their own.
Contraindications: pregnancy, any known allergies to calcium hydroxylapatite components, tendency to hypertrophic scarring, history of scleroderma or history of previous permanent fillers.
